Alitam, a consolidation of over 200 highly successful pharmacy stores, has announced its latest star hiring: Simon Newton as Chief Financial Officer.
He joins an exceptional management team, united in the vision and ambition to be a leading FTSE250 business within five years.
Simon will build on the legacy of Chief Financial Officer Arnold Wylie, himself the director of a ‘miracle’ 122 accountancy firm merger in May 2019. Simon brings to Alitam his formidable experience of founding and floating a nationwide company, extensive financial services expertise and a collaborative, delivery-focused approach. Arnold and Simon will work together to continue implementing revolutionary financial systems and processes. Thereby strengthening Alitam’s positioning as the ‘Pharmacy of the Future’ and enabling the acquisition of significant new market share each year.
Says Simon, “Having founded and floated a company, it was clear to me that Alitam is poised to become a leading FTSE company. They’ve already achieved so much through the integration of over 200 pharmacy stores, pooling their considerable resources and harnessing the latest technology. And, having so many great minds working towards a single, shared vision is a rare thing and incredibly impressive. The Overnight Multiple Merger Model (OMMM) is fast becoming a proven method of synergising successful businesses and skilled equity directors overnight.
The scale by which we operate is already driving life-changing innovations. I’m proud to be part of Alitam’s endeavour to enhance the role of the pharmacist, make a real difference to local communities and reduce the burden on the NHS.”
Simon sits alongside a highly accomplished management team. Alitam Group Chairman is Sir Ken Olisa OBE who, among other roles, is also London’s Lord Lieutenant, responsible for managing the Royal Family’s duties. Leading lights of the UK and Ireland pharmacy industry include: Oonagh O’Hagan who has built the top online pharmacy in Ireland; Sanjay and Mitul Patel who run a large group of 40+ pharmacy stores; and board consultant Michael Guerin, who owns the largest independent group in Northern Ireland, Medicare.
Deputy Chairman, Dhruv Patel OBE says, ‘Simon’s drive, vision and experience are the perfect match for Alitam. Having spotted his talent we’re delighted he’s come on board to help us achieve, and no doubt exceed, our ambitions. I’m confident Alitam is the Pharmacy of the Future, and my own family’s group of pharmacies is proudly part of this game-changing endeavour, founded by Feisal Nahaboo.”
