Alitam pharmacies are supporting the government strategy to reduce infection and to save lives. Several of our locations are either approved or in the process of seeking approval to offer covid-19 vaccinations.

What is Covid-19?

Covid-19 is a highly infectious virus caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. Sadly, some people become seriously unwell following infection. The UK has already announced over 80,000 deaths with fatalities set to exceed 100,000 by the Summer of 2020.

Symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) include and not limited to are:

  • A high temperature
  • A new, continuous cough
  • A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste

If you believe you may have the virus…

  • Contact your Doctor or pharmacist
  • Seek a covid-19 test

Please do remember, that not everybody has symptoms which means you may be spreading the virus without knowing.

The government has issued advice to:

  • Wash your hands regularly and for at least 20 seconds
  • Wear a face covering on public transport and relevant indoor settings
  • Maintain social distancing where relevant
